We got up and got ready for our day full of Wyoming adventures. We got on the road by 8 and headed towards the Dinosaur Museum. Convienently located next to Hot Spring State Park. We got out to explore the Hot Springs…the Largest Mineral Hot Springs apparently. One wrong step and I smerged my foot in the spring. Woopsies. I took off my shoes and decided I was going to stick my feet in this bright aqua hot springs. Like a natural hot tub. So awesome. Lindsay took her shoes off too and joined me. Then we left our shoes by the spring and walked down the path to the bridge, only seeing a few other people. Lindsay was busy photographing and I headed back. To no shoes. Who steals shoes???? I looked all around. Nothing. I put my hands in the air and Lindsay got my drift. My only pair of gym shoes, and I had worn them once. She searched all around and asked anyone we saw if they’d seen shoes. The office was ofcourse closed, so I asked a guy taking pictures if he had seen any shoes. He said no, but there was a park ranger driving around in a white truck doing maintenance, maybe he’d seen them. We thanked this guy and got in the car in search of a white pickup truck. Nothing. Up the hill, nothing. Just feeling hopeless and frustrated we headed down the hill and Lindsay made one last attempt, asking the guy mowing the lawn. “Have you seen shoes?” I expected him to say “no, sorry” like everyone else, but Alas he replied “YES!”. Thank goodness. I guess he found them and didn’t want to them to get knocked in. “There were in the maintenance room, feel free to go get them, its not locked”. Overjoyed, I got our shoes and got back in the car. With the tickets yesterday morning, and the lost shoes this morning, I was beginning to think everyday was going to have some sort of problematic start. And someone stealing shoes would be something that would only happen to me. Happily reunited with our shoes, we headed to the Wyoming Dinosaur Museum so Lindsay could get her fossil fix. The bones were pretty cool, I felt like Ross in Friends, but I’m a speedy museum go-througher, so I got back in the car to eat my breakfast – an apple. And now, on the road, heading to Cody, WY then off to Yellowstone.
