I woke early as I have been everyday. If you weren’t aware I have troubles sleeping and take medication to help unfortunately along with my debit card did not come before we left. I have one of them and it helps but when I’m not sleeping at home I always sleep worse. But I slept pretty good that night I think it was the sound of the river. (which btw are all really high from the rain and snow melt…remember that 8ft wall of snow we told you about? So yeah roaring rivers and creeks) So I got up started packing up the car while B slept a little while longer but soon emerged with folded blankets. I had everything done so I was glad she was up because all was left was the tent. And the things inside which she did all by herself! The things she told me she wasn’t good at. Comparative advantage lamarative schmavantage…practice makes perfect people. She is even getting pretty good at wildlife spotting. I’m so proud.
I would also like to add that the Vue’s first bath was with Clorox wipes real classy I know. But I couldn’t get up top without getting all muddy and I as well have not showered in a while but surprising I’m not to bothered. Usually I shower everyday if you were wondering LOL. She did get washed later as B said but we needed to find a do it yourself was because I didn’t want the tub on top of the car going through the car was. Rinse off and ready to go I gave the girl a pat on the dash and told her she was a trooper. Gotta be nice to the vehicle that takes youacross country. You also have to give due respect that makes the drive possible as you will see it in many of our photos, winding around, dipping up and down and disappearing off into the distance.
And I was indeed with the lack of wildlife that’s by far my favorite part not so much B’s but I think she may be warming up to it. I mean what else are we gonna do driving across country…enjoy the view of course and see things we haven’t before and have a little excitement in animal spotting and being able to capture them in a photo you took and seeing the things live and in living color that you only thought you’d see in books and National Geographics. Which I’ve been addicted to since I was little. And it was for the pictures not the reading we should all know by now im not a huge fan of reading, what dyslexic person is? So for me to take a picture of a black bear and a grizzly bear in the same spot from outside my car is a dream. I was sort of hoping they were gonna tussle because that would have been amazing especially since B has been taking wildlife videos. I feel like we could make a nature documentary after this kind of like that one movie with Steve Zahn trying to make wildlife documentaries, except we haven’t needed anyone to dress in a costume. So far I have asked and I have received. I’d say, I wanna see a elk and there it was then I’d say the next animal and there it was. We are still on the hunt for the elusive caribou though. Ive seen a thousand signs saying caution and nothing. B also thinks I’m getting a little demanding and perhaps I am but how cool would it be to see a bear fishing in a river or a momma wolf in an open field with her pups playing? And yes I demand a humpback whale and orca! So it shall be.
